The challenging 50-mile route follows the same out-run as the 75-mile route, heading for the limestone hills of Yorkshire and climbing steeply out of Malham up into the fells, passing Malham Tarn before a swift decent into the Dales market town of Settle. From Settle, it’s a long, leisurely return ride through the upper Ribble Valley to Clitheroe via Bolton by Bowland, Sawley and West Bradford. Total ascent: 1309 metres.
